2023 halliday hill pinot noir

Both the 2023 Pinot Noir Halliday Hill and Evelyn's are selections from a small vineyard up the street from the winery. In the glass, this wine reveals a beautifully detailed and light wild edge, with notes of cranberries, alpine herbs, toasted incense, and wildflowers. Halliday Hill comes from the highest elevation, with incredibly low yields, but where they have the healthiest fruit, and they incorporate lots of whole clusters at fermentation as well as lots of new oak. Ripe cherries and cedar fill and saturate the palate with ripe tannins, offering a lovely silkiness and opulence within the range. It has the spice to balance out the supple, sweet oak notes of the ripe fruits. Drink over the next couple of decades. A hundred cases were produced, and it was raised in 75% new oak.
